Two ESUT Law graduands pocket N2,000,000 Dean’s Prize for emerging BGSs
Two Law graduands of the Enugu State University of Science and Technology, ESUT, have received N1,000,000 each for emerging Best-graduating-Students from Law Faculty during the 21st Convocation Ceremony covering 2023/2024 academic session.
The award christened “Dean’s Annual Prize for Best-graduating Student,” in the Law Faculty and sponsored by Barr. Gabriel Nwodo, a Law graduate from ESUT based in the UK, were claimed by Chinedu S. Oha, and Getrude N.Onah, respectively.
The duo scored equal Cumulative Grade Points Average, CGPA.
It will be recalled that the first beneficiary, Valeria N . Udeh, when the award took effect in 2022/2023 academic session, was handed down $1,000 by the Sponsor.
The Vice Chancellor of ESUT, Professor Aloysius-Michaels Okolie, while handing the prizes to the winners, thanked the donor, Barr. Nwodo, for promoting research, innovation and academic excellence in the University.
He stated that the award would promote healthy academic competition among the students of the University, and equally urged the beneficiaries to deploy the funds judiciously.
One of the beneficiaries, Oha, who spoke on behalf of others, thanked the donor and the University Management for promoting conducive learning environment in the University.
He added that the prize money would enable him to process his law school fees which he said had been a source of worry to his family.
